On March 2, a videoconference dedicated to the development of economic, scientific and educational ties between Russia and Argentina was held at the Russian Trade Representative in Buenos Aires.

The central theme of the conference, organized by the Trade Delegation of Russia, was the project for the use of ocean-wave energy, offered to Argentinean partners by the Russian HESC Group (St. Petersburg). It is about the construction of a unique complex in the area of ​​the resort city of Necochea, lying on the Atlantic coast, generating a wave energy and protecting the coast line.

The event was attended by the Russian Trade Representative in Argentina, Sergey Derkach, the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representation Valeriy Kucherov, the rector of the National University of the Central Region of the Province of Buenos Aires Roberto Tassara, the mayor of Necochea Facundo Lopez, the representative of the Argentine Planning Agency Alejandro Rossi.

About the advanced Russian technologies that can be used to implement the project, the general director of the Russian company Vladimir Egurnov and his colleagues told on video from Saint-Petersburg. The special attractiveness of the proposed technologies, as the Argentine participants in the conference noted, is that they do not cause the slightest damage to the environment.

During the discussion, the issue arose of carrying out the necessary research works, scientific support and training of specialists that may be required to service the project. In this regard, both the Russian and the Argentine parties showed great interest in the proposal of the representative of Rossotrudnichestvo to establish support for the project through the Agency, including the necessary contacts with specialized Russian universities and studying of specialists.

At the end of April this year, the Argentine delegation plans to visit the Russian Federation for a detailed study of the proposals made by the Russian side and demonstration real-prototype of Wave Hunter on the Black Sea.
